As a social reformer, Hari Deo Joshiji was the voice of Dalits, tribals, and the downtrodden, before the formation of Rajasthan. He was a firm believer in education as a tool to lead the downtrodden to a dignified life. Hari Deo Joshi joined politics in the 1950s and onwards 1952, he fought 10 State Assembly elections and not even once, was he defeated.
